It has been a productive week for YouthLead including attendance at two excellent initiatives created to foster stronger collaboration and networking within the NPO arena.
Wednesday, 05.11: The third monthly LocalJam meeting, an initiative created by GYAN (Global Youth Action Network) was held at the Chat The Planet office in Manhattan. The meeting, which lasted over three hours incorporated group conversations, report backs and organizational "plug time" where members had the opportunity to share the latest happenings at their ventures.
The next meeting is scheduled for mid-June. A date should be available soon. Learn more about GYAN and the LocalJam at www.youthlink.org
Thursday, 05.12: The Queens Borough Mentoring Network had another successful turnout for its monthly meetings. The meetings are an initiative of BIG BROTHERS/BIG SISTERS of New York City to serve the purpose of greater collaboration and resource sharing amongst mentoring groups throughout New York City. There is a meeting for each borough. Learn more by emailing [email protected]
You can learn about the organizations in attendance and their activities by going to the sociokast and $martEconomy blogs. Submit items for consideration to [email protected] and [email protected], respectively.
